Description: The National Black Police Association offers an annual award to one outstanding high school senior who is committed to improving the criminal justice system through post-secondary education. Eligible high school seniors should be planning to attend a two-year college or university to pursue a degree in criminal justice or law enforcement. The National Black Police Association prides itself on encouraging community involvement, so applicants with community service and volunteer experience will be more competitive for the scholarship award. Students should already be accepted to a criminal justice program to be eligible for the Alfonso Deal Scholarship Award.

National Technical Investigators’ Association
Scholarship Name: Captain James J. Regan Memorial Scholarship
Description: Named for the association’s founder, James J. Regan, the National Technical Investigators’ association offers two scholarships to aspiring criminal justice experts, who plan on focusing on the technical aspects of law enforcement. The awards are given on the basis of merit; students should not only have an great academic record, but should be active in junior police or related activities. The scholarship committee will be particularly interested in why you are interested in technical assistance (you’ll need to write a 250-word essay about it), as well as your leadership ability and potential. You will also need letters of recommendation from and adviser or supervisor to submit with the application.
