Scholarship Name: DDWSF Scholarship for High School Students
Description: The David and Dovetta Wilson Scholarship Fund recognizes that many students provide outstanding service to their communities, get good grades, but still have financial challenges that make college an almost impossibility. In order to alleviate some of the financial burden for high school students, the DDWSF has made nine scholarships available to high school seniors of up to $1,000; the goal of the foundation is to increase its fundraising to create even more scholarship opportunities for students. Although the organization is based in New York, students from any of the 50 states are eligible to apply. Students should demonstrate involvement in community groups, with special emphasis placed on those active in their religious community. While the website does not outline specific income criteria, students should also demonstrate financial need. Unlike most scholarship awards, there is a fee to apply for the DDWSF award ($20). In addition to the scholarship form and high school transcripts, student should be ready to furnish three letters of recommendation.

Scholarship Name: Educator Scholarship Program
Description: As our largest renewable resource, what the future generations decide to do with trees is of tantamount importance. The Hardwood Forest Foundation is awarding scholarships to future educators. All college seniors and graduate students going in to the field of education are eligible to apply. The goal of the foundation is to ensure that the future generations are educated about sustainable forest management. The best place to start is with their teachers!
