Scholarship Name: George Watt Prize Essay Competition
Description: Most of the time, scholarship applications will ask for special essays written especially for them. But the George Watt Prize Essay Competition actually rewards you for an essay that you’ve already written. If you are studying history or social science (or other related disciplines) and you have written an essay, paper or thesis about the Spanish Civil War, or the global and cultural struggles against fascism of the 1920s and 1930s, you may submit your work for consideration for the $500 scholarship prize. Essays and papers can be submitted in both Spanish and English.

American Political Science Association
Scholarship Name: Minority Fellows Program
Description: The American Political Science Association has made available fellowships, internships and summer institutes for minority students entering the field of political science field. The Minority Fellows program specifically addresses the lack of minorities who are pursuing PhDs in political science. Through the fellowship program, students receive a $4,000 stipend over 2 years to help offset the costs of pursuing an advanced degree in political science. Students must be African-American, Latino, Asian/Pacific Islander or Native American to qualify for the award.
