Scholarship Name: Grants for Undergraduates and Graduates in Print and Photojournalism
Description: The National Press Photographers Association was created to promote research and understanding of the business of press photography. To that end, they have created a number of scholarships, both from contributions by members and from the association’s own general fund to give students with otherwise limited opportunity the chance to go to college. The Still Photographer Scholarship awards $2,000 to an undergraduate photojournalist who has already completed one year of school. The Kit C. King Graduate Fund gives $1,000 awards to students pursuing advanced journalism degrees. Students must submit a portfolio to qualify for any of the scholarships offered, and students must attend school in the United States or Canada.

Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA)
Scholarship Name: AAJA Cox Foundation, SI Newhouse Foundation, and Mary Moy Quan Ing Memorial Scholarships
Description: The Asian American Journalists Association is a nonprofit organization committed to encouraging young journalists to pursue education and careers in the industry, specifically in order to diversify the viewpoints that currently exist in news reporting. The AAJA offers three scholarships: the Cox Foundation Scholarship, SI Newhouse Foundation Scholarship and the Mary Moy Quan Ing Memorial Scholarship. The Cox Foundation scholarship recognizes current college students pursuing journalism careers with awards of $1,250. The SI Newhouse Foundation offers a similar scholarship, that is also open to high school students and worth $5,000. Finally, the Mary Moy Quan Ing Memorial Scholarship awards $2,000 to graduating high school seniors.
