Scholarship Name: Legacy Environmental Scholarship
Description: Both graduate and undergraduate students can benefit from Legacy Partners scholarship initiative to help Alabama students pursue careers in environmental science. Legacy Partners in Environmental Education is a grassroots organization based in Alabama that seeks to education citizens about environmental issues. In addition to distributing education materials and organizing workshops around hot topics in environmental conservation and protection, the organization offers scholarships of $1,500 to undergraduate students and $2,000 to graduate students who are pursuing careers in environmental science. The organization is specifically looking for candidates who are passionate about environmental issues – and have shown that though action during their education. Another interesting part of the scholarship program is that while they are looking to fund environmental – related studies, eligible students do not have to have an “environmental” title. Business, education and government majors have all been scholarship recipients in the past.

Barona Band of Mission Indians
Scholarship Name: Barona Sustainable Environment Scholarship
Description: Residents of Southern California who are interested in the pursuing careers in sustainable environments can apply for the Barona Sustainable Environment Scholarship, which is sponsored by the Barona Band of Mission Indians and the Barona Resort & Casino. The Barona Band of Mission Indians represent the Barona Tribe, Native Americas who revere the earth and have historically used sustainable practices, and who continue to do so in their resort and casino. Barona would like to support students who are doing similar work in sustainability by offering scholarships to students pursuing careers in the horticulture, turf grass management, natural resources, or environmental sciences industries. Students do not need to be affiliated with the Barona Band of Mission Indians to be eligible, and can come from any ethnic of racial background. Employees or dependents of employees of Barona Resort & Casino are not eligible to apply.
