Scholarship Name: Yukon Delta Education Fund
Description: The Yukon Delta Education Fund provides scholarships of up to $24,000 for four years of study to student interested in the fishing industry in Alaska. Student should already be enrolled in a full time undergraduate or vocational program, and should have a GPA of at least 2.5. Students should be from one of the villages of Alakanuk, Emmonak, Grayling, Kotlik, Mtn. Village and Nunam Iqua, and can choose to attend college either inside or outside of the state of Alaska. These villages are part of the YDFDA, and eligible students should have resided in one of these villages for 5 continuous years. Full time graduate and undergraduate students can apply for the scholarship.

Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Association
Scholarship Name: Fisheries and Marine Sciences Scholarship
Description: This scholarship is just about as straightforward as they come! The Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Association offer scholarships of $500 to students who are residents of Rhode Island and who will be pursuing degrees in fisheries or marine science in the next year. Students must be planning to attend the University of Rhode Island or Roger Williams University. RISAA also offers a number of $500 scholarships to members and families of members, who are attending any college in the United States. Students should be seniors, or should be planning to attend college within one year. The application itself is fairly straightforward, but you should be prepared to write an essay outlining your goals for college and the future, and you’ll need to submit a letter of support from your principal or guidance counselor.
