Scholarship Name: Fisheries and Marine Sciences Scholarship
Description: The Southern Kingfish Association – sport fishing’s largest saltwater tournament trail – offers a scholarship program to students that gives free college money for doing they would probably be doing anyway. It’s all about angling! This sport fishing scholarships encourages junior anglers – fisherman below the age of 16 – can compete on the tournament trail for the Mercury Junior Anglers Scholarship. As they fish with their respective captains, they are also trying to get $500 for being the top angler in the tournament. Only angling that occurs at SKA-sanctioned events qualifies for the scholarship, and the captain must sign off on all catches to make them official. The Southern Kingfish Association has already given away $24,000 though this competition.

How to Apply/Contact: You don’t really need to apply to the Mercury Junior Anglers Scholarship as you would a more traditional scholarship. Eastern Shore Anglers Club
Scholarship Name: Fisheries and Marine Sciences Scholarship
Description: This modest scholarships was established by the Eastern Shore Anglers Club to recognize a student in financial need attending Eastern Shore Community College. Students should be currently enrolled in a full-time degree program, and have a GPA of at least 2.0. New students can also apply with a GPA of at least 80.
