Scholarship Name: Charlotte McGuire Scholarships
Description: Some might say that those who study some more alternative subjects, including acupuncture and holistic health, may not find many alternatives to paying for college on their own; most scholarship programs cover more traditional pursuits, especially when it comes to health. But the American Holistic Nurses Association changes things with a scholarship for nurses who are pursuing careers in holistic health, have an interest in holistic health, or have experience in the field. Applicants must be members of the AHNA for at least six months (for undergraduates, one year for graduates) to become eligible for an award. The scholarship also carries a minimum GPA of 3.0 and two letters of sponsorship as part of the application.

Nurse Practitioner Health Foundation
Scholarship Name: NHF/AstraZeneca Diversity Scholarships
Description: Some This might be a surprising statistic, but as much as 94% of the nurse practitioner profession is caucasian. That leaves a large need for diversity, and fortunately, the Nurse Practitioner Health Foundation is taking steps to help nurse practitioner graduate students gain financial assistance to encourage them to enter the profession. The scholarship is intended for students who not only represent minority backgrounds, but who have committed their studies to addressing issues in minority populations, particularly as they relate to public health. The scholarship targets African-American, Latino, Asian and Native American students.
