Description: The Daughters of the American Revolution National Society gives many scholarships to both men and women pursuing a variety of degrees across the country. The Enid Hall Griswold Memorial Scholarship is reserved for juniors and seniors who are studying political science, history, economics or government full-time. The $1,000 is award is not renewable, but is a great way to supplement a social science degree. The DAR also offers social science scholarships in history and historic preservation

Scholarship Name: Minorities in Government Scholarship
Description: While not all political science majors end up in government jobs, there is a high demand for talented young people to enter public service. The Government Finance Officers Association offers a college scholarship for minority political science majors who plan on pursuing a career in public finance. To qualify for the scholarship, which is funded by Microsoft, students much be nominated by their department chair or dean. Students in both graduate programs (like a Master of Public Administration or MPA) and undergraduate programs (like Political Science or Economics) who are African-American, Latino, Asian, Native American, Hawaiian or Pacific Islander are eligible for the $5,000 award. Scholarships are awarded at the annual Government Finance Officers Association.
