Scholarship Name: Fashion Student Scholarship Foundation
Description: The Embassy of Fashion Designers International was created to make the education of fashion design students more accessible. To that end, they offer five scholarships per year to students in one of the many design areas (Fashion, Footwear, Costume, Interior, Textile, Marketing). Interested students should obtain a letter of recommendation from a faculty member in their design department or design- related internship supervisor. Students are also required to right an essay outlining why they deserve to receive the scholarship award. Awards are available to both community college and four year college students. To be eligible, students should already be either enrolled or accepted to a certified design program, and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA

Major/Field of Study: Applications are available at the Embassy of Fashion Designers website (3/28/12 – website down), and should be mailed directly to the Embassy offices in Los Angeles when completed.

Greater Washington Fashion Chamber of Commerce
Scholarship Name: GWFCC Project FUNDway Scholarship Fund
Description: Are you a Washington D.C.- based fashionista who has always wanted to have her own runway show? You might want to consider “Project FUNDway”, and fashion design competition for high school seniors that awards $5,000 in fashion school scholarships to student committed to the fashion industry. Interested students should submit an application and portfolio, and the top three will be chosen to compete in a runway competition, where their garments will be modeled for the judges. Based on performance in the runway showcase, the winner is chosen based on individuality, style and the quality of their garments. In addition to the scholarship and participation in the runway showcase, students are place in a Washington D.C.-based internship, where their portfolio will be critiqued and strengthened.
