Scholarship Name: Francis D. Lyon Scholarship
Description: Academy award winning film editor, writer and producer and founder of the California chapter of Phi Delta Theta Francis “Pete” Lyon left a legacy not only with the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, but within the motion picture industry. Each year, Phi Delta Theta honors that legacy through the Francis D. Lyon Scholarship for students pursuing degrees or education in any film-related discipline. While the scholarship award is administered by the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, students do not have to be members to be eligible to apply. Students should display a real passion for film in their application in order to make it competitive.

Scholarship Name: The ASCAP Foundation Steve Kaplan TV & Film Studies Scholarship
Description: Have you ever wondered who is responsible for the catchy Jeopardy these music? That was Steve Kaplan, and award winning television and film composer. Students who are looking to follow in Mr. Kaplan’s footsteps and pursue a career in film scoring are encouraged to apply for the Steve Kaplan scholarship through the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers Foundation. In addition to the generous scholarship award, scholarship recipients are invited to participate in the ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop in Los Angeles. The size of the film scholarship award is based on the school attended and the financial need of the recipient.
