Scholarship Name: The John L. Dales Scholarship Fund
Description: The Screen Actors Guild, the membership organization for television and motion picture actors and actresses, offers a number of assistance initiatives through it’s charitable arm, the Screen Actors Guild Foundation. The scholarships are open to both members of SAG and their children and dependents. Awards can be used at any accredited institution of higher learning, and come in two types: Standard and Transitional. Standard scholarships are for children and dependents of SAG members, and Transitional scholarships are for current SAG members who are going to back to school. Students may reapply for up to five awards, starting from their junior year of high school. Award amounts and number of recipients varies from year to year.

Institute of Humane Studies
Scholarship Name: Film and Fiction Scholarships
Description: The Institute of Humane Studies at George Mason University, which gives scholarships is a number of disciplines as they relate to free societies, offers and interesting scholarship opportunity to graduate students in film and literature of up to $10,000. Eligible students must be enrolled in a Master of Fine Arts program in film directing, production, screenwriting, playwriting or fiction writing. Applicants should further demonstrate in the work and interest in the pursuit of a free society. The scholarship review committee will be looking for students who have sparked political and economic discussions with their work.
