Description: Nursing is a seriously hot career field. Lots of people want to get into nursing as a permanent career but it requires a degree. If you live in Michigan or plan to attend nursing school in the state look into the Michigan Nursing Scholarship program. How does up to $4,000 per academic year sound? You must be attending a participating school at least 1/2 time, and on track to gaining one of the following:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN)
Recipients are selected by your school’s financial aid office. How they determine recipients is up to them.
Also, if you receive the award you’ll be agreeing to work as a nurse at one of several healthcare facilities in Michigan that participate in the Michigan Nursing Scholarship Program. Or you could opt to teach nursing at a specified institution for however many years you received assistance. There’s no way around these obligations! The money must be paid back – it will be treated as as loan – if you don’t follow through on your commitments.

How to Apply/Contact: Contact the financial aid office at the Michigan school you plan to attend for information about being considered for a Michigan Nursing Scholarship. There is no application form for students to submit to the Michigan Nursing Scholarship Program.
Tylenol
Scholarship Name: Tylenol Scholarship
Description: Now in its 17th year, the Tylenol Scholarship program is designed to assist students pursuing careers in the healthcare, life sciences, or related fields to manage the rising costs of education. Tylenol will award a total of $250,000 scholarships to applicants with combined leadership and academic excellence. Ten grand prize winners will receive $10,000 each, while thirty winners will earn $5,000 grants. Eligible candidates must be pursuing healthcare-related education at an accredited institution. The application deadline is typically in mid-May.
