Scholarship Name: Behavioral Sciences Student Fellowship
Description: Are you looking for a way to fund research related to epilepsy as an undergraduate? While more grants and fellowships for research are given to post-doctoral students, the Epilepsy Foundation gives students at any stage of their studies the opportunity to earn a stipend to perform research related to epilepsy. Students must have a viable research proposal, as well as a mentor who can supervise the research. Women, students from minority groups and students with disabilities are encouraged to apply for this health care scholarship. Research is conducted over a three-month period, and the $3,000 award serves as a stipend to allow students to realize their work without financial constraints.

QueensCare
Scholarship Name: Gene and Marilyn Nuziard Scholarship
Description: While there is a high demand for new talent in the field of health care, there is still a barrier to entry for many students looking to pursue health-related careers: money for college. To address this issue, specifically for those students who plan to pursue careers in the Los Angeles area, QueensCare initiated the Gene and Marilyn Nuziard Scholarship, in honor of former board members. QueensCare is committed to providing healthcare to Los Angeles’ under served community, and to that end offers scholarships of up to $9,000 for each year of a four year undergraduate degree. Part-time students are also eligible for smaller awards. Priority is placed on students pursuing Physicians Assistant, Nursing, Medical and Physician Specialist degrees. Applicants are considered based on grade point average (at least 2.5) and financial need.
